Internet Think of the "tool kit" the average apartment dweller has: a hammer, two or three screwdrivers, pliers, a measuring tape, and that's about it. Often, the "hammer" is a shoe and the "screwdriver" is a table knife or a nail file.
Now think of your auto mechanic. His tool chest is probably almost five feet tall, riding on four heavy-duty casters and weighs in at several hundred pounds. He's got the tools to do just about any mechanical chore your car could need - and some you'd rather not think about.
That pretty much sums up the difference between the average "webmaster tools" application, and the Webmaster Tools from NSI Solutions, recently sent to me for review.
Internet You would expect the people chosen to review this type of application would be expert webmasters, fully versed in creating, modifying and maintaining stunning websites. Can you see them? Serious people peering at huge flat-screen monitors, fingers flying over their ergonomically correct keyboards, a half-eaten pizza in its box on the floor.
That's certainly a reasonable expectation. And, in my case, it's completely wrong. My technical abilities rival those of my feline friend, Spike - for whom we keep house, provide food and treats, scratch his head, belly, whatever. Got a cat? Then you know...
Anyway, perhaps the opinion of an un-techie will be helpful. That would be me - hard to get un-techier (I know, that's not a word.)
Remember Merlin, the Good Wizard of Camelot? He may have relatives in Webmaster Tools - good wizards all over the place! The absolute easiest way to get something done is -- ? Right! Have an expert do it for you. That's what Webmaster Tools is all about - a mighty collection of good wizards (and more) geared to perform daunting and onerous tasks for you, quickly and easily.
One of the most endearing things about this application is that it's built with a question and answer format. Just enter the variables, as asked, and the wizard produces just what you asked for!
You don't need any skill in JavaScript, you don't need to know how to create a CSS (Cascading Style Sheet), thank God. No, Cascading Style Sheets aren't things that go on your bed...
You do need a fundamental knowledge of HTML, which you probably already have. Otherwise, webmaster tools wouldn't be of much interest, eh? So, you're already ready to use Webmaster Tools - Black Label Edition III.
Are you uneasy about having your email address on your website? It's gotta be there, but it can be easily harvested by the scum - oops! - people who send spam. Webmaster Tools has a tool called No-spam Email that cloaks you address to block the robots from harvesting you - which sounds really painful!
Among the other nifty wizards are ones that make Dropdown Menus, Mouseover Text (text changes color), and an Order Calculator that totals your customer's purchases - and looks great in the process.
Internet There are many other goodies you just have to see. I feel better just having Webmaster Tools from NSI Solutions - now I can do cool things that will make my friends think I know what I'm doing. Can't beat that! Have great results and a good time!
